Ekco has been awarded an Information Protection Specialisation by leading cyber security and compliance company Proofpoint. This specialisation will ensure that Ekco customers can benefit from data protection solutions with more people-centric approaches and ensure compliance for data governance.

The data governance market is expected to grow to €6.9 billion in 2026 at a compound annual growth rate of 22.7%, according to the Data Governance Global Market Report 2022.  As data protection becomes increasingly important with a growing remote workforce, heightened regulatory restrictions and an ever-evolving threat landscape, there are thousands of companies in need of scalable solutions that allow them to better protect their critical data.

“Ekco is excited to be awarded Proofpoint’s Information Protection Specialisation. We aim to continue to offer our customers the best technology solutions that evolve with today’s unique business challenges, as well as deepen our levels of expertise so we can support our customers to address complex security problems,” said Pat O’Callaghan, chief commercial officer, Security at Ekco.

“Legacy data loss protection solutions address just one third of the data loss protection problems companies face today, as they are focused solely on content and neglect to identify and mitigate the risks that people pose to data. Solutions like Proofpoint’s Information Protection and Cloud Security Platform also examine threats and user behaviour, which enable organisations to respond quickly to data risk. We are looking forward to strengthening our partnership with Proofpoint,” O’Callaghan concluded.

“Data doesn’t lose itself. People lose data—through negligence, malice, and compromise,” said Shaun Bowman, channel director, UK&I at Proofpoint. “Data loss is a growing problem, with recent Proofpoint research revealing that 63% of global security leaders reported dealing with the loss of sensitive data in the past 12 months. The information protection challenges faced by Proofpoint’s partners and customers are becoming increasingly unique, so it’s critical that our partners are able to extend their knowledge and understanding of our solutions, to help them address their customers’ challenges in today’s diverse threat landscape.”

With Proofpoint, partners can decide which security focus areas they wish to develop a specialist expertise in. In this particular specialisation, Ekco has become a specialist in Proofpoint Sigma – Proofpoint’s integrated information protection platform that provides unmatched visibility into data risk by analysing content, behaviour and threats from a single cloud-native console, stopping data loss while saving time and operational cost.
